Easter

These pictures are from the egg hunt at our house on Easter. The kids also had an egg hunt with their friends from our homeschooling group earlier in the week.

Our Move

Life got too busy to keep this page updated. Just when I was getting back into our routine after vacation, we decided to move. I'm still busy unpacking, but hopefully things are getting back to normal now. The kids really love the yard and are able to get out and play a lot more now.

Here are some pics of the new house.

The fireplace in the living room still needs to be finished, but they had to order the rock.

That's the dining room you can see on the right side of the kitchen.

This is the backyard from the screened porch.

Here's Molly on moving day. You can see how helpful she is.

Roller Skating

I took the kids roller skating for the first time. Colin fell a lot, but he kept getting up and trying. Eventually, he got the hang of it and was able to go all the way around without falling.

Caleigh was more cautious. She did fall once and wanted to give up. After a few minutes, she went back out though. She stayed near the edge and went slow. She has great balance so that helped her.

Molly spent most of her time practicing on the carpet. She did go on the floor for a while with me, but she held on to me so tightly I thought she would pull me down.

They thought it was fun and have already asked when we can go back again.

Valentine's Day

Yesterday we met our friends at the park and the kids exchanged valentines.

We spent today at home. I made pink heart shaped waffles for breakfast. After lunch, we had heart shaped rice krispie treats. For dinner, the kids decorated a white tablecloth and dressed up. We turned off the lights and lit candles. They had grape juice in wine glasses. For dessert, we had heart shaped brownies and strawberries. Then we played music and everyone danced. The kids thought that was very fun.

Birthday celebrations

Yesterday we went to the park with our friends. I took Lego cupcakes to celebrate Colin's and Caleigh's birthdays.

My dad and sister are visiting to celebrate the birthdays. We all went bowling today and then to lunch.

Colin's birthday and snow

The kids were so excited to see it snowing last night. It's only snowed one other time since we've lived here. Colin said God sent snow for his birthday present. Luckily, the snow was still around when they got up this morning. Chad had already taken the day off for Colin's birthday. We had planned to take them out somewhere, but they were happy to stay home and get to go out to play in the snow.

Colin decided he wanted to decorate his own Star Wars cake this year. He drew everything out on paper. I helped him get the outline on the cake, but he did most of the decorating.

I can't believe he's already 9 years old.

We're back

I'll try to post a few more pictures from our vacation soon. Molly and I apparently brought colds home from Florida so I'm a little behind on getting things done. Anyway, I just wanted to share this picture of Molly. She and Caleigh loved riding the teacups. They wanted to spin as fast as we could and made crazy faces the whole time. On the last day, I asked them to show what their faces would look like once the ride started. This is what I got of Molly. It just makes me laugh every time I see it.

Happy Birthday, Chad!

Today is Chad's birthday. We visited Hollywood Studios and then went out for dinner. After that, we came back to the house for cake and presents.

Happy Birthday Caleigh!

Caleigh is 6 years old today. We went to Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald walk around visiting your table while you eat. After breakfast, they brought out a cupcake for her. Then we went to Magic Kingdom. We did all her favorite rides and met some characters. She wanted to leave because she was so excited about getting back to the house to open her presents.

Vacation

Last week, I was busy preparing for our vacation. Colin did his testing for the year as required by North Carolina. We left home and came to Florida on Thursday. The kids have had a great time visiting Disney World. The weather had been great, but now it's cooler and today it rained.

Colin got his hair cut at Magic Kingdom and had them paint a Mickey head on the back. They also sprinkled pixie dust on the girls' heads.

Donald liked Chad's shirt

Colin was chosen for Jedi training. Then he got to fight Darth Vadar. It really made his day.
