Roller Skating

I took the kids roller skating for the first time. Colin fell a lot, but he kept getting up and trying. Eventually, he got the hang of it and was able to go all the way around without falling.

Caleigh was more cautious. She did fall once and wanted to give up. After a few minutes, she went back out though. She stayed near the edge and went slow. She has great balance so that helped her.

Molly spent most of her time practicing on the carpet. She did go on the floor for a while with me, but she held on to me so tightly I thought she would pull me down.

They thought it was fun and have already asked when we can go back again.

Valentine's Day

Yesterday we met our friends at the park and the kids exchanged valentines.

We spent today at home. I made pink heart shaped waffles for breakfast. After lunch, we had heart shaped rice krispie treats. For dinner, the kids decorated a white tablecloth and dressed up. We turned off the lights and lit candles. They had grape juice in wine glasses. For dessert, we had heart shaped brownies and strawberries. Then we played music and everyone danced. The kids thought that was very fun.

Birthday celebrations

Yesterday we went to the park with our friends. I took Lego cupcakes to celebrate Colin's and Caleigh's birthdays.

My dad and sister are visiting to celebrate the birthdays. We all went bowling today and then to lunch.

Colin's birthday and snow

The kids were so excited to see it snowing last night. It's only snowed one other time since we've lived here. Colin said God sent snow for his birthday present. Luckily, the snow was still around when they got up this morning. Chad had already taken the day off for Colin's birthday. We had planned to take them out somewhere, but they were happy to stay home and get to go out to play in the snow.

Colin decided he wanted to decorate his own Star Wars cake this year. He drew everything out on paper. I helped him get the outline on the cake, but he did most of the decorating.

I can't believe he's already 9 years old.
